One of the most handy sites I have found in a while is 10 Minute Mail.
It is a super light-weight site that gives you an email address that self-destructs after 10 minutes. You don’t even need to register. Just click the site, and get a 10 minute email address.
Any e-mails sent to that address will show up automatically on the web page. You can read them, click on links, and even reply to them. The e-mail address will expire after 10 minutes.
Why would you use this? Maybe you want to sign up for a site which requires that you provide an e-mail address to send a validation e-mail to. And maybe you don’t want to give up your real e-mail address and end up on a bunch of spam lists. This is nice and disposable. And it’s free. Enjoy!
Just try and tell me that isn’t the most rad thing!
Unfortunately, a few sites are already aware of this and block registrations from the specific domain, but 99.9% still let you through! Enjoy while it lasts… Now, if there were only some way to have a 10 minute Web browser and Windows installation that you could dispose of and never have to worry about spyware and virii…
[edit]
Apparently, there are a few other sites that do this as well. Many require you to login though. But if a site blocks a specific disposable email account, google for another.
Here is another: dodge-it
